headcanon: everyone thinks bucky hates hugs cause of his PTSD and time spent at hydra but in reality he’s scared that he’ll flex his arm and the plates shifting will pinch the person hugging him. he aint scared hes just overly considerate

since bucky is a supersoldier and cant really wear long sleeved shirts inside without getting too hot, tony builds this thin sleeve thing that doesnt constrict the arm or his fingers but its heavenly soft on the outside and protects from the pinch when the plates shift. they call it the “metal arm hug mode” cause whenever any avenger sees bucky wearing it they know theyre gettin smothered with supersized cuddles in T-0.3 seconds
