Over 113, now! He missed celebrating his Bar Mitzvah because of the first World War, so he finally observed it September 2016, a hundred years later.

Just checked, and he’s still alive! He’ll be 114 on September 15th.

Edit, since people keep reblogging this post in particular directly from my blog: Yisrael passed away August 11, 2017 at the ripe old age of 113 years and 330 days.

For just shy of 17 months he held the title of World’s Oldest Man, and was the ninth oldest man (whose age was verified) EVER. And 17 months is a pretty damn long time to hold the title of World’s Oldest Man.

Remember his legacy, and honor his memory.
