hello it’s dumb taz headcannon o’clock: about 1/5 of the planes the ipre visited had a type of berry that was identical to raspberries in every way except for the fact that the twins were deathly fucking allergic to them

it was a big ole production when they first encountered em but after a century they just learned to carry a fantasy epipen until someone felt up to playing Raspberry Roulette and it wasn’t a big deal… except when lucretia was halfway through editing the journals she realized she couldn’t remember if this was a Gaspberry plane and she didn’t know how to ask taako without seeming suspicious 

so in the end she just went ‘fuck it’ and edited out everything but one memory of a bad reaction so taako would assume he’d always been allergic, and it stuck so hard that even after the second inoculation he was p much convinced they couldn’t eat raspberries

the upshot is post-finale lup and taako got into a three hour argument on weather or not they were actually allergic that ended when lup scarfed an entire thing of raspberries in under a minute and almost wrecked her brand new body because it turned out this was, in fact, a Gaspberry plane

Dumb headcanon o’clock is my favorite time of day and I want more

the reason no one could remember if it was a Gaspberry plane is because they were all to busy with relics of mass destruction to care about the raspberry sitch, and so never bothered checking, and so forgot they never bothered checking in the intervening 12 years 

the only person who actually remembered they hadn’t checked was Barry, but since the likelihood of any given member of the ipre communicating with their crewmates effectively and in a timely manner is roughly the same as the likelihood of the twins being allergic to alien raspberries, he obviously completely forgot to mention it 

this at least partially explains why his only comment while walking into his kitchen to stab his shrieking, dying wife with a makeshift fantasy epipen was ‘Woof, looks like somebody lost Raspberry Roulette, huh? 🙂 ”
