Seriously. White “dreadlocks” are literally just unwashed, matted, damaged hair. Knock it off, fellow white people jfc.
And miss me with that “but the vikings/irish had dreadlocks!!!” shit, because it’s not fucking true. Vikings and Celts were clean as fuck and commonly had intricately braided hair. Not nasty-ass matted “dreadlocks”.
And the braids were called Glibbes. You can actually see (sorta historically accurate) versions of them in Vikings. Ragnar wore them for a bit. Both Scandinavians, Scots and Celts were pretty hardcore about keeping their shit detangled.
Literally brought up white dreads at the viking museum and everyone working there laughed. One man ,who was a historian,linked the rise of “ but the vikings had dreadlocks” to 99 when white people started getting pushed out of rasta spaces.
