today wtf

Now i guess. But good because I’m sure they need it

I’m literally so stupid wth

I was today years old

What???

But, my teachers came out side with us. They like stood near the bench and made shure we didn’t kill eatch other, infact it always seemed like the most stressful bit because we were all running around. I always thought lunch and ‘secondary’ (art/pe/music) classes were the breaks.

Also if recess is the required break, what happens when the weather’s bad?

Hi! American elementary school teacher’s kid here! Good question @thumperdaetime!! Here’s my unwanted experience from watching my mom all 22 years of my life!

Lunch is not a break! Its “get your kids to the lunch room, go get your food, scarf it down, watch the kids to make sure they aren’t killing each other, take the kids back to the classroom.” Oh, and try not to rip your hair out from stress.

‘Secondary’ classes are not a break! They are a teacher’s plan period. They take the kids to the class, walk back to their own classroom, and plan out as much of the next day’s, week’s, or month’s lesson as they can before going to pick the kids up.

Recess is not a break!! Especially if you have recess duty (which is, indeed, super stressful). It is yet another plan period, because no teacher wants to stay hours after school or go in on the weekends to do this sh*t. And it does take HOURS! If the weather is bad, teachers lose that plan period. Which is utter bs.

I could go on and on about the absolute JOYS of being a teacher in America, but I digress, after saying:

Teachers should really be paid more than they are for all the sh*t they put up with.

That’s all. Have a great day!!
