Rest in Peace,  George Buzinkai, if not for [S] WV: Ascend and [S] Act 4, if not for Doctor and Explore and Endless Climb, Homestuck may never have clicked for me and changed my life in the way it did. Thank You.

I’m used to major composers dying; a lot of them are old so…it makes sense. But…it really hadn’t occurred to me that anyone from the Homestuck Music Team might die anytime soon. I can’t say I had kept up with what George Buzinkai was doing post-Homestuck music, but…it’s really sad and surprising for him to be gone.

That was one of the weird things with Homestuck. It’s one of the major narrative works of our time, but it didn’t have a lot of Established Big Names in on it. The music team was a bunch of people who I think were mostly around my age who happened to be good at music and into the comic early on. And then it became such a collaborative soundtrack that motifs — Doctor in particular — spread (like the Breath aspect) through a lot of the music.
