I love this part because it has absolutely nothing to do with the rest of the episode it’s in
For anyone wondering, because I should’ve said so in the first place, this is from the episode Surf N Turf of Season 11.
If you’re looking to get into modern SpongeBob, Season 9 is where it started to return to form and has some solid episodes.
Sponge Out of Water, the second movie, is not quite as coherent as the original movie (the live action stuff while fun is kind of tacked on at the last 20 minutes), but it’s an excellent movie that sets the tone for the seasons afterwards.
Sponge Out of Water, Seasons 10 and 11 are the wackiest and zaniest the show has ever been, and are backed by a solid sense of humor as well as a surprising amount of callbacks to Season 1-3 episodes. Bubble Bass is back as a recurring character, DoodleBob and Bubble Buddy get new episodes, off the top of my head. The characters generally act like their old selves as well. There’s a few episodes in these seasons that IMO reach the heights of Seasons 1-3 in their own ways, like Karen’s Virus.
