anti makeup post; you’re conditioned to feel disgusting without makeup on from childhood and its not good if the only time you feel confident is while you’re wearing it

some poor soul with no reading comprehension; but it DOES make me feel confident

when i was 14 i literally couldn’t leave the house without wearing makeup because i felt so disgusting and ugly but i was surrounded by messages of “its your own choice!!!! stab a bitch eyeliner!!! blinding highlight!!!!!” i was tricked into believing is was a choice i wanted to make. i wear makeup mainly for theatre and occasionally i’ll mess around and have fun with it. i’m not trying to shame people for feeling good when wearing makeup, but if you cant naturally exist without feeling ugly and ashamed then please try and examine why that might be instead of just getting on with it.
