yall trying to debate the nuance of what is and isnt allowed in tumblrs new dumb fucking policy must not remember when a lot of queer posts and blogs were marked explicit by their bots for seemingly no reason other than being generally queer.
I’m very, very troubled that Tumblr is creating this policy. Ignoring the countless bots that post porn on a regular basis and other things which I agree need a solution, this policy is going to hurt a lot of content creators that create +18 material.
I support all forms of content creation, as long as they are not harmful to other people. That of course includes any kind of nsfw creations, and I have to say that this is very sad from Tumblr. There’s a lot of artists that depend on creating mature content, it’s their way of earning a living. Tumblr by doing this, is limiting the freedom creativity of artists. Even worse, it’s compromising their works here, in different ways.
Tumblr, comon, don’t do this. This is not right, and it’s going to bring trouble to a lot of people.
I do not support this new policy, at all. And I’m really hoping that tumblr will not go trough with this. I’m very dissapointed they are doing this.
Staff: Uhhh….Okay so, we’re going to delete artists who draw NSFW and block tags we think are associated with NSFW like ‘teratophilia’ and ‘furry’ from search results. We’re taking away the content filter button so it’s permanently on now.
Users: This isn’t solving the bot problem.
Staff: Also we’re enacting a new policy that we’ll just nuke all 18+ content even for older users.
